About
CEO's Message:
These continue to be challenging economic times. The needs of some of those we serve increase sharply, and the Madison County Urban League's reliance on people of good will become even greater. It is moments such as these that surely tested and strengthened the resolve of those who founded the Urban League in this community forty years ago. Thankfully, our founders can be proud that we have prevailed and remained a firm and committed organization to those in need.
The Madison County Urban league, through a variety of partnerships, has sustained important initiatives and we strive to accomplish even more as we unite with like-mined individuals and entities to harness and magnify energies toward a common cause.
Our wish for Madison County is that the spirit of unity and collaboration may grow and flourish among the diverse people of our communities, so that no matter what tomorrow brings, we will all lead richer lives. Thank you!
Board Chair's Message:
John F. Kennedy said, "Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past and present are certain to miss the future." Madison County Urban League strives to provide quality services in the areas of housing, employment, health care and education through programs that address and enhance the community and its constituency.
For instance, our education program promotes academic success activities via partnering with local entities designed to empower our youth. The Housing Counseling Program provides education and information concerning home maintenance, financial management and budgeting. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers and CEO, we provide excellent, fair and quality service to those in need.
While we have made progress, we have a lot of work ahead of us. With you as a partner, we can continue to empower communities and change lives. Our vision will remain steadfast.
